Whether you are a fresher out of college or an experienced professional drifting in the sea of jobs for the perfect shore, it is only your resume that stands between you and that perfect job!
There is no doubt that your resume is the key to landing an interview. This may make you want to pour out all your accomplishments to ensure you outshine your peers. However, do not make that mistake. A long resume is most unattractive to recruiters. Considering they go through hundreds of resumes in a day, undoubtedly, less is more!
Freshers with up to 3 years of experience
As you are right in the beginning of your career, no one expects you to have a bag of accomplishments. One page is apt to list all your selling points.
Mid level professionals
For a mid level professional with around 5 years or more under their belt, 1 page may be too less. But going over 2 pages will be going overboard. Do not give random statements about your role in the company but talk about how you benefited the employer and mention the figures if possible!
Senior executives
With over fifteen years of work experience, you surely have a lot to write. Yet, you should endeavour to only give a gist of your role and quantifiable achievements, preferably under specified skill sets. Instead of a sermon, present a conversation starter.
